The Internal Security Agency (ABW) stated that the group allegedly supplied Russia with significant quantities of components used in the production of ammunition and weapons systems. The charges also include violations of regulations governing the international trade in goods and technologies of strategic importance for national defense and international security. Prosecutors indicated that the total value of the components purchased and transported to Russia exceeded 2 million Polish Zloty, approximately 455,430 euros.
According to investigation findings, the criminal scheme operated from June 2023 until December 2025. The group’s activities extended across Poland, Lithuania, and Russia, involving the ordering, purchasing, and transportation of goods. Suspects used vehicles equipped with hidden compartments to cross the Polish-Russian border on numerous occasions, though some shipments were intercepted by Polish border authorities. The items involved included shell casings and projectiles.

Poland, a member of the EU and NATO located on the alliance’s eastern flank, has repeatedly accused Russia of sabotage since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022. The country serves as a primary transit route for Western military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Poland had foiled a possible provocation at the border with the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, though specific details of this separate incident were not elaborated in the provided report.
Beyond the espionage charges, four suspects are accused of acting for the benefit of Russian intelligence against the Republic of Poland. The ABW is conducting a further investigation to determine the full extent of the group’s operations. Siemoniak noted that nearly 100 people have been charged in espionage and sabotage investigations conducted by the agency since January 1, 2024. The next step in the legal process will be the continuation of pre-trial detention and further investigative hearings to establish the complete network of activities.
