Philippines to Begin Disbursing P8,000 Uplift Cash Aid to Low-Income SSS Members on October 30

SSS President and CEO Victor Alfonso Limlingan announced that the upcoming payout will benefit qualified SSS members whose monthly salary credit (MSC) does not exceed P10,000. This extension broadens the scope of the program, which previously provided additional assistance only to members with an MSC of up to P20,000. The DSWD is coordinating with the SSS to ensure the aid reaches the intended beneficiaries, marking a concerted effort to support lower-income segments of the workforce.

The P8,000 assistance package will be disbursed in four tranches of P2,000 each. These funds will be credited directly to the beneficiaries’ registered SSS disbursement accounts. Limlingan clarified that while the program targets those with an MSC not exceeding P10,000, this salary threshold alone does not guarantee eligibility. To qualify, members must meet specific criteria: they must have paid at least one SSS contribution in either 2025 or 2026, and they must be listed in the Philippine Statistics Authority’s 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System database. Additionally, members are required to have enrolled their disbursement accounts through the SSS Disbursement Account Enrollment Module within the prescribed timeframe.

Beneficiaries are advised to check their My.SSS accounts for official notifications regarding their eligibility. The SSS emphasized that only those who meet all the stated requirements will receive the assistance, ensuring that resources are directed toward the verified low-income population.

Simultaneously, the SSS confirmed that qualified members with an MSC of P20,000 are scheduled to receive the third and fourth tranches of Uplift assistance, totaling P4,000, on November 6. This follows the successful release of the first and second tranches earlier in the year. For eligible beneficiaries who have not yet received any Uplift assistance, the agency stated that they will receive the full P8,000 covering all four tranches at once. Limlingan explained, “Those who have already received the first two tranches totaling P4,000 will receive an additional P4,000 for the third and fourth tranches,” noting that both amounts will be credited simultaneously to their registered accounts.

The Uplift program serves as a critical component of the Philippine government’s social safety net, providing direct cash transfers to mitigate economic pressures on low-income households. By extending the program to workers with lower salary credits, the DSWD and SSS aim to address broader economic vulnerabilities among the labor force. The precise eligibility criteria, tied to recent contribution history and national statistics data, reflect an effort to target assistance based on current economic status and verified poverty indicators.

As the first batch of payments begins on October 30 and the subsequent batch follows on November 6, the SSS has urged members to ensure their banking details are up to date to avoid delays in disbursement. The program underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to providing targeted financial support to its citizens, leveraging institutional data to streamline distribution and maximize impact.
